The Texas Alzheimer's Disease State Plan Partnership recently announced HealthBridge Founder and CEO Matt Johnson is a member of the group of elder care experts, neurologists, and geriatricians tasked with creating a plan for Texas to eradicate Alzheimer's Disease.
The Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas Council on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, and the Texas Chapters of the Alzheimer's association have joined together to create the foundation for the State Plan Partnership.
The State Plan goals include:
- Texans will experience preserved cognitive health throughout the life span.
- Texans will experience improved quality of care by strengthening state and local capacity to address AD across the continuum of care.
- Texans with Alzheimer’s disease will experience improved quality of life through better disease management.
- Caregivers will experience enhanced levels of support through improved access to information and services.
- Texas will support Alzheimer’s disease research.
Matt will provide valuable insight into the practical aspects of Alzheimer's care, bridging the gap between theory and practice. He will also offer ideas on how the State Plan will impact family and professional caregivers of those with Alzheimer's Disease.
"This is a tremendous opportunity to create a cohesive, comprehensive plan to protect all Texans from the perils of Alzheimer's Disease. This is the disease our clients and their families fear most, so I'm thrilled to be working with this team to defeat it," said Johnson.
