In the TED Talk below, Biochemist Gregory Petsko makes a convincing argument that, in the next 50 years, we'll see an epidemic of neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's, as the world population ages.

Here’s the thing:  the average lifespan has doubled since 1840 and is currently increasing at the rate of five hours every day.  When we reach the age of 65, our susceptibility to Azlheimer’s and Parkinson's increases exponentially.

We spend a lot of time working with our senior care clients to evade memory deterioration.  Science, technology and entertainment have converged to improve brain health, but the population demographics are outpacing the research.

We’re all working toward the same goal, but we’re running out of time

How can we create urgency for this cause?  What are you doing to keep your mind sharp?  How are you helping your parents or clients maintain their brain fitness?

Wow! 2050! Something to really think about for ourselves and our children. Eat right, exercise the mind and the body, get plenty of rest, hydrate - water, water, water. Specifics anyone?
