Last week MSNBC published a list that got me thinking..."12 Surprising Signs You'll Live to 100."  I don't often think about becoming a happy and healthy centenarian, but why the heck not?!?  I certainly have Dallas elder care clients that have come very close to this amazing milestone.  My first thought is that you have to start early.  Begin a regiment of healthy habits when you are young that you can stick with throughout a lifetime.   Here are my favorites from their list...

You run for 40 minutes a day - we already know that daily excercise is important to our health, but did you think it would get to you 100?

You embrace techie trends - a good way to keep your mind young.  Email, Twitter, Facebook...BLOG!!!

You're the life of the party!

Do you know a Centenarian?  What habits did they develop to get them to 100?  I look forward to reading your comments!

Uh oh, I'm in trouble. I did the techie route, do ok at parties but not great, and have never been a runner for long as I always managed to hurt something. Do hope walking, tennis, and juggling grandkids will work :) Tho today, I have to confess, between the arthritis in my hands and the pain in my calf, I'm feeling like 100 - does that count? :)

On a much more serious note, I really enjoyed your article and will have to follow up on the MSNBC one which I missed. I appreciate your letting us know about it. :) :) :)
